A24’s Ali Herting Joins Emma Stone & Dave McCary’s Fruit Tree As Producer – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: In Emma Stone and Dave McCary’s first executive hire at their new production company Fruit Tree, the duo Ali Herting from A24 hired as producers.

Stone and McCary launched the film / TV production banner Fruit Tree with a two-year first-look TV contract with A24 in August. As part of the pact, the Fruit Tree partners intend to create projects in script, documentation and script formats. The first new project is a TV adaptation of The Shadows, Stacy Willingham’s debut thriller. Fruit Tree’s first feature film, When You Save the World, directed by Jesse Eisenberg, is distributed by A24.

“Ali’s perspective, passion and experience of working closely with notable filmmakers are an invaluable addition to Fruit Tree and the stories we love to bring to life,” said Stone and McCary. “We feel incredibly happy to have her on the team.”

Herting started her career in New York and spent 8 years at A24, where she worked in acquisition, development and production. Her recent films have included The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Midsommar, Zola, and Minari. More recently, she worked in management and production before moving to Fruit Tree.
