Atletico striker Luis Suarez buys 1,000 Large Macs for youngsters’s charity occasion — RT Sport Information
Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez bought and donated 1,000 Big Macs for children in his native Uruguay as part of a charity event.
The 33-year-old spent 4.75 euros for each of the burgers he donated to children in a youth league in Pando, a small town northwest of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo, and raised a total of 4,750 euros for the Ronald McDonald House Association and Liceo Impulso School.
McDonald’s Uruguayan Twitter account thanked him for his donation to the annual event, which matched the donation made by Argentine striker Carlos Tevez last year.
“Luis Suarez has proven that the big day has no limits. He bought 1,000 Big Macs from Spain through McDelivery to help the House of Ronald, Liceo Impulso and to donate to Pando’s BabyLeague.
“Thank you, Luis, for putting on the jersey on the big day! Anyone can join wherever you are. “
The same Twitter account once trolled the striker after being sent off for biting Italian Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but it appears the hatchet has obviously been buried.
Although Suarez was in Spain, he was able to buy the burgers for Pando’s children through the McDelivery service.
The Ronald McDonald House Association supports pregnant women and families of sick children and is said to help more than 7,000 people each year.

Not only did Suarez bite Chiellini, for whom he was banned for four months, but he was also banned for a long time for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic during his time at Liverpool and PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal at Ajax.
Suarez joined Atletico Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, although his former club Barcelona may receive up to € 6m in performance-related benefits.
He has played five games for his new team and scored three goals.
On Tuesday he and Los Rojiblancos were beaten 4-0 by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
The striker’s last game for Barca, in which he scored 198 goals in 283 games, was also against Bayern. Suarez found the net in that game, a one-legged Champions League quarter-final in August, but the German giants destroyed his side 8-2.
