Charles Barkley Mum On Breonna Taylor Feedback After Backlash – Deadline

Charles Barkely was silent during Saturday’s NBA pre-game coverage of Breonna Taylor’s verdict after receiving backlash for his comments on the Kentucky Attorney General’s decision.

A day after the Kentucky official charged Detective Brett Hankinson of Louisville with the murder of the EMT, Barkely said he was careful about rounding up police brutality cases.

“I don’t think he was like George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery and things like that. I am sad that this young woman has lost her life, ”he said on Thursday on TNT. “But I’m worried about putting all of these situations together.”

“But we have to take into account that your boyfriend shot the police and shot a policeman. Like I said, although I’m really sorry she lost her life, I don’t think we can put this in the same situation as George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery, ”he added.

Shaquille O’Neal also shared similar views on Thursday’s ruling that held the three Louisville officers innocent in the March EMT assassination.

Since Barkley posted his comments on Thursday, he has remained calm on social media and moved away from the topic during the show on Saturday. The Hall of Famer had something to say about the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets, however. The final team will face the Los Angeles Lakers tonight.

“The Denver Nuggets are guaranteed to go down tonight,” he said.
