First Look At Tyler Hoechlin In Superman Swimsuit – Deadline
The CW has unveiled the first full-length look at Tyler Hoechlin in full super insignia for the upcoming Superman & Lois series, and the latest incarnation of the Man of Steel includes what the designers refer to as “classic, timeless vibes” “modern arena”.
With a “streamlined muscle structure” no less. See the photo below.
“I think the new suit is representative of the show,” said Hoechlin, who plays Superman / Clark Kent on the series, which debuts in February. “Just as this suit is unique and different from the previous ones, the story we tell about Clark / Superman at this point in his life is unique and something we have never seen before. “
The new costume was designed by Laura Jean Shannon and built by her LA-based Supersuits team in collaboration with Creative Character Engineering. It has “a classic, timeless feel, both reminiscent of the Superman we all grew up with when we grounded and raised the suit in a modern arena with updated techniques and applications. “

“We put Superman in some athlete-inspired super boots as a starting point and focused on a new neckline and cape to maximize the undulations and movements we all love to see in the books and movies that have defined this character for generations “Said Shannon.” Optimized muscle structure and an updated paint job combined with some dynamic design lines and a sculpted armor belt have taken his established custom fabric in a new direction to cement the new look for Superman in Superman & Lois. “
The new series was developed by Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti for The CW, based on the DC Comics characters. Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch play in the title roles Todd HelbingGreg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff John are serving as executive producers.
Hoechlin said he guess “the ability to wear the suit and the responsibilities that come with it. “
“But it’s always interesting when I’m asked how I feel about ‘my new suit’,” said the actor, “because I’ve always had the feeling that the suit doesn’t belong to me; it belongs to everyone who is in this one Suit finds meaning in the symbol on the chest. I happen to be the one wearing it. Coming from the world of baseball and a number of coaches who have always preached that the name on the front of the shirt is more important than that on the back. Because when you wear this jersey, it represents not just you, but your entire team and everyone who has ever worn the jersey that came before you. If I wear the suit, it means to me. It represents everything what Superman has stood for for almost a century, and I look forward to continuing this tradition. “
The CW will post a photo of Clark Kent and Lois Lane later this week.
Superman & Lois premiered Tuesday, February 23 at 9 p.m. PT on The CW.
