Former Adult Leisure Membership is accepted for brand new use
MASHPEE – The building that once housed Cape Cod’s only adult entertainment club is being re-used.
Cape Cod Appliance and Liquidators will use the former Zachary’s Pub as an equipment and sales room.
Due to Mashpee’s zoning bylaws, plans for a 3,000-square-foot site “didn’t have to be significantly more damaging than the existing flawed structure or use for the neighborhood”.
“The docile uses we are suggesting are not significantly more harmful than the uses that existed there earlier,” said Rob Mills, an attorney for the company.
The Mashpee Zoning Board unanimously approved the written finding.
Code compliance and building permits are required prior to opening the store.
Zachary will be closed in May 2019.
Once you determine that there has been a change in usage, you will find that changes are not significantly more damaging than existing or previous usage, ”said Mills.
