Netflix To Add Seven New Unique Scripted Collection In The UK – Deadline
Netflix has announced that it will produce seven new series in the UK with original scripts ranging from horror to science fiction, love stories and physical comedy.
All shows are written and produced in the UK. T.The Original Series team is led by Anne Mensah, VP UK.
“Starting a team based in the UK has always been about making a better connection with the amazing programmers we have here, ”said Mensah. “To provide writers, producers, directors and actors with a space that feels local, friendly and familiar, but also gives talent the opportunity to do shows that have an impact on a global scale. Stories made in the UK really speak to the world.
“I couldn’t be more excited with the mix of people producing for Netflix now. In addition to these new assignments, we have projects under development with a number of great creators including Andrew ”Rapman ”Onwubolu, Greg Burke, Bisha K Ali and Lucy Prebble and a Retelling of Xiaolu Guo’s international bestseller A concise Chinese-English dictionary for lovers by the writer Jing Lusi, developed with Greenacre Films.

The new series will be filmed in all countries and regions of the UK including the South West, Wales and the North of England.
