Silicon Valley Drama From Pete Nowalk & Joanna Coles Will get ABC Manufacturing Dedication – Deadline

ABC has signed on to produce Valley Of the Gods, a drama from “How To Get Away With Murder,” and executive producer Pete Nowalk, executive producer of The Bold Type, Joanna Coles and ABC Studios.

Valley Of the Gods, written by Nowalk, is described as a sexy, high-stakes drama about the most powerful people in Silicon Valley and the hungry, underrated outsiders trying to make their way.

Nowalk and Coles Executive produce. ABC Signature, with which Nowalk signs a general contract and Coles has a pact at first sight, is the studio.

During its six-year run on ABC, the Nowalk-created HTGAWM won multiple awards from GLAAD, NAACP and AFI, and presented Star Viola Davis with an Emmy Award and four other Emmy nominations in 2015.

Nowalk was previously co-executive producer of ABC / ABC Studios’ Shondaland drama Scandal and served six seasons of ABC / ABCS / Shondaland’s longstanding medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. He was also a writer on Spinoff Private Practice. Nowalk, who recently wrote the mystery drama Close Up, which was piloted at Freeform, is re-signed by UTA. Robert Offer and Lindsey Strasberg.

Coles was the first person to serve as Chief Content Officer for Hearst Magazines, overseeing content and editorial partnerships for 300 magazines worldwide. Coles is considered one of the most influential magazine editors in the last few decades and joined Hearst in 2006 as editor-in-chief of Marie Claire. In 2012 he was named editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, the world’s largest women’s media brand.

Coles is executive producer on Freeform’s The Bold Type, which was inspired by her life and career and features a character from Melora Hardin who is modeled after Coles. The acclaimed comedy drama is waiting for the renewal of the fifth season. She is again looked after by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, UTA and Tara Kole.
