Elizaveta Fedotova was moved to tears after watching her boyfriend Mikhail Sergachev win the 2020 Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

The Lightning beat the Dallas Stars 2-0 thanks to goals from Brayden Point and Blake Coleman at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada to win the final series 4-2.

Fedotova quickly celebrated the win on Instagram, posting a picture of Sergachev with the Stanley Cup next to the headline “Simply the best morning of the year! My love! My hero.”

The yoga teacher posted a video of herself on her Instagram stories, watching the final moments of the game on a laptop and cheering wildly at the final whistle.

A visibly emotional Shelby shared more videos of her tears during the trophy presentation, along with the headline “Changing Emotions”.

“I’m so proud of you, you deserve it,” she added in a caption to another photo of Sergachev picking up the trophy.

She also shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call she made to the 22-year-old, calling it the “Stanley Cup 2020 version” to allow for remote assistance given the strict Covid-19 restrictions.

Amid the coronavirus lockdown, NHL teams spent 65 days in bio-safe bubbles in Edmonton and Toronto playing the remaining 130 games of the season non-stop.

Sergachev helped Tampa Bay win the Stanley Cup for the second time in the team’s history, following his first win in 2004.

The defender was one of four Russian players on the squad alongside Nikita Kucherov, Andrei Vasilevskiy and Alexander Volkov.

Kucherov finished the playoffs top scorer after collecting 34 points from seven goals and 27 assists, while Vasilevskiy was only the second goalkeeper in NHL history to record his first shutout of the playoff year in the game that won the Stanley Cup for his team won.
