ELKO – Adult Education Program congratulates Jamie Lynn Rose Naney on passing her high school equivalency test.

Naney received her HiSet certificate in December as well as a La Fiesta gift certificate for her achievement.

Naney signed up for the program two months ago, saying it was partly due to her family’s influence.

“When I moved in with my aunt and uncle, they were the first to bring security into my life. My aunt wanted me to do good things in life and when I looked up at her I decided that was the best way to go as I would never be able to go through the regular system, ”she explained.

She also received support from adult education staff, particularly instructor Judy Wintermote.

“I want to say that Ms. Wintermote is one of the best trainers I’ve ever had,” said Naney. “She always kept me up to date and never lost confidence in me. I really appreciate that. “

Now, with her high school equivalence, Naney is studying for her diploma to advance her education.

If someone is still unsure whether to enroll or not, Naney has some advice.

“Take. That. Step,” she said. “It’s very nice to be able to graduate when everyone has told you you can’t. The instructor is so friendly and the exams are as easy as possible.
