Vasyl Lomachenko targets one other title forward of Teofimo Lopez showdown (VIDEO) — RT Sport Information

Ukrainian boxing superstar Vasyl Lomachenko sees his upcoming fight with Teofimo Lopez as a legacy fight and believes he will face one of the world’s best on October 17th.

Lomachenko has already won the WBA (Super), WBO and “The Ring” lightweight world titles and will compete against current IBF champion Lopez at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas for another title to add his growing resume.

The Ukrainian, who has won world titles in three different weight classes, said he was looking forward to testing his skills against the 23-year-old New Yorker, who entered the fight with a perfect 15-0 record, including 12 knockout games comes.

But even though Lopez was aiming for Lomachenko’s title, The Matrix said he didn’t feel bad about his opponent before the night of the fight in Las Vegas.

“Absolutely not,” he told RT Sport.

“I have a goal, I have a dream and he holds a belt, the IBF title. I need this belt and on Saturday October 17th I will try to take this belt.”

Lomachenko said he always enjoyed the challenge of facing the best boxers in the world and that he will face a tough test against Lopez when they throw their hands at the MGM Grand.

“When I got into professional boxing, I always wanted to fight with the best fighters and with the world champions,” he said.

“Now I have a top fighter in front of me. I just want to improve who I am and improve my legacy.

“He has a good punch, he has a very good speed, he has an IQ. He’s young, he’s hungry, but we’ll see.”
